Introduction of Silicone Coated Fiberglass Fabric

Silicone Rubber Coated Fiberglass Fabric is a heavy-duty insulation material that can withstand temperatures up to 550°C (1022°F).
Because of its high-temperature resistance, UV resistance, mild corrosion resistance, and weather resistance, as well as the excellent oil and water resistance, low smoke and flame retardant properties of the silicone coating, it is widely used in building insulation, fire protection, Industrial protection, electrical insulation, and other fields.

Silicone Fiberglass Cloth Properties
(1) Chemical properties: oil resistance, water resistance, fire resistance and high-temperature resistance, flame retardant (Char Length 0.5-inch max. 1.27 cm max. under ASTM-D-6413 standard), low smoke (Afterglow 1 sec. under ASTM-D-6413 standard. max. one sec. max. Flame Out one sec. max. one sec. max.)
(2) Mechanical properties: excellent flexibility, puncture resistance (BURST STRENGTH 550 psi 38.5 kg/cm² under ASTM-D-3786) and tear resistance (TENSILE STRENGTH 250 lbs./ inch 44.65 kg/cm TEAR STRENGTH 50 lbs 22.68 kg )
(3) High temperature resistance: -54 °C to 260 °C/-65 °F to +500 °F (silica gel limit) -54 °C to 550 °C/-65 °F to +1022 °F (ASTM- D-6413 standard test)
(4) Color: More than 31 colors are available, and we can make silicon-impregnated fiberglass cloth with the same color according to the samples you provide

Silicone Coated Fiberglass Cloth Structure

The fiberglass silicone fabric is composed of two parts:
  • Silicone coating
  • Fiberglass fabric

Silicone coating: Silicone technology is a technological revolution in the textile industry.

Silicone has many practical properties: water resistance, oil resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, excellent oxidation resistance, and weather resistance, making it the best choice for fire-resistant insulating coatings. In many fields, materials face work. The environment is often very harsh. Silicone's solid and durable characteristics make it constantly select by more industries. It has become one of the essential materials in fire retardants, insulation protection, etc.

E-glass fiberglass fabric: Silicone has excellent performance, but under more than 260 degrees Celsius, silicone is still not enough, so silicone is made by combining e-glass alkali-free glass fiber and silicone coating. Coated fiberglass cloth was born.

The higher strength and temperature resistance of glass fiber make the temperature applications of this thermal insulation material more comprehensive, so it is adopted by more industries that have a demand for thermal insulation and protection.

We use glass fiber with a diameter of 5 and 8 microns. This diameter of high-temperature-resistant fabric makes the silicone fiberglass cloth have better oil and heat resistance, abrasion resistance, mechanical strength, electrical insulation, and thermal insulation performance, and More economical and durable.

Application:

1. Electric welding blanket: The welding blanket made of traditional glass fiber fabric has good performance, but inevitably in use, when the glass fiber comes into contact with the human body, it will cause a severe irritating reaction. The silicone fiberglass fabric completely solves this problem using silicone coating. The excellent temperature resistance ensures the safety factor in welding protection, and at the same time, it is safe for the human body.

2. Silicone glass fiber sleeve: The strong temperature resistance coefficient and the higher strength of the sleeve structure, the relative density is between 1.5-2.0, only 20% of carbon steel, but depends on structural mechanics and silicone glass fiber. You can compare the perfect fusion of the strength of silicone tubes to alloy steel. Because of such strong performance, silicone tube is used in H2N grade electrical appliances, electric heating equipment, unique lamps, wire harness insulation protection of electronic equipment, petroleum, electric power, chemical industry, paper making, urban water supply and drainage, factory sewage treatment, seawater desalination, gas transportation, and other sectors have achieved a wide range of applications

3. Insulation protective cover: What is more critical for pipeline protection than high-temperature resistance, heat preservation, and water vapor resistance? The characteristics of silicone fabric determine that it will be the best material choice for the most suitable insulating protective cover.

4. Expansion joints, fire curtains, smoke curtains, and countless fire retardant and thermal insulation fields.
